Table Etiquette

Like every other casino game, roulette too has some rules of etiquette that need to be followed.

There is a certain period during play in which you are allowed to place roulette bets. The dealer normally gives all the bettors about 60 seconds to place bets between each spin of the wheel. When the dealer spins the wheel, you still have a few seconds to place a bet. After which the dealer raises his hands and says "no more bets". When the ball drops into a slot on the roulette wheel , the dealer places a marker on the table. This corresponds to the slot that the ball is dropped into. He first removes all of the losing bets, after which he pays off the winning bets, and then removes the marker from the table. It is forbidden for players to touch their chips during this time else they could be removed from the casino.

The most important rule of casinos is that people should behave in a polite and courteous manner. Ensure that you do not knock over your neighbour’s stack of chips. Show respect to the dealer and the players around you and don’t forget to give the dealer a tip on occasion. Do not get drink and disorderly, scream and shout. Have fun but make sure that you do not pose an inconvenience to the other players around you.
